The Devil's Arthimtic the MOVIE

I am not going to review it but I just want to tell you how sad it was. How many Jews were killed at that time. And they way there were killed was just plain horrible. They kind of changed the movie a little bit from the book but it still was good.

It has Jane from Spider man as Hannah. It was very good but it was sad also. Because it was just so sad, how they died.

There are a couple of visual scenes. When they show what happens in the gas stoves and stuff. And people also get hanged. It was very sad but not to bad.

Matilda by Roald Dahl

Title: Matilda

Author: Roald Dahlf (Author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)

Stars: 5

Description: Who put superglue in Dad's hat? Was it really a ghost that made Mom tear out the house? Matilda is a genius with idiot parents0and she's having a great time driving them crazy. But at school things are different. At school there's Miss Trunchbull, two hundred menacing pounds of kid-hating headmistress. Get rid of the Trunchbull and Matilda would be a hero. But that would take a superhuman genius, wouldn't it?

I love this book! Part of it is a fantasy because it has a little bit of magic in it, but I LOVE fantasy! And of course, Roald Dahl is a good writer!

Matilda is a genius. I mean it! A five-year-old girl is a genius. She talked perfectly when she was 2 years old, new how to read in about 5. And she taught herself all of this. Well, her parents are just plain mean to her. They call her dump, idiot, and they say SHUT UP! Yep, they are mean.

Well, when she is old enough to go to school, she just amazing her teacher Miss Honey. Miss Honey talks to the headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, but there is NO way that Matilda is going to movie up. The Trunchbull is just TO mean.

This is some of the things that The Trunchbull does to her students!

1. Pulls them by the hair

2. Pulls them by their ears

And more!

Matilda would be a hero if she got rid of The Trunchbull, well, it would just take a lot of magic to do that!

There is the wold a** in and then OH MY GAWD. But nothing really really bad.

Troubled Waters by Carolyn Keene

Title: Troubled Waters
Author: Carolyn Keene
Stars: 5
Description: When heavy rains washed out the low-lying towns around River Heights, my friends and I knew we had to help. That's we we hooked up with Helping Homes to build apartments. Then the two-time state basketball champe, the Lowell University Bullets, showed up-and the waters, so to speak, turn murky. While George couldn't be happier about working close to J. C. Valdez, the Bullets' start foreword, not everyone around us is a fan. For starters, take the person who is destroying our work and spray painting threats to J. C. on the walls. Is this the product of some basketball feud, or something much larger? I may be up to my elbows in Sheetrock, but that won't slow my sleuthing....
After a whole bunch of floods, and people losing their homes, Nancy and her friends just know they have to help build new apartments. George is very excited about getting to meet J. C. Valdez, a good basketball player on the team of the Bullets. Very soon pictures are stolen, walls are spray painted with nasty messages to J.C., and rooms are broken into.
After all of this stuff happens, Nancy knows that she is going to have to help the people in need, and to help find the vandal.

Everything on a Waffle by Polly Horvath

Title: Everything on a Waffle
Author: Polly Horvath (Author of The Trolls)
Stars: 5 (I love this book! It ends very good!)
Description: Primrose Squarp simply knows her parents did not perish at sea during a terrible storm, but try convincing the other residents of Coal Harbour on that score. For all practical purposes, at least for the time being, Primrose is an orphan, and there's no great clamoring of prospective adopters. After realizing the impracticality of continuing to pay Miss Perfidy (a moth-ball scented elderly lady) an hourly wage to baby-sit her, the town council is able to locate a relative, Uncle Jack, who is reluctantly takes Primrose into his care. Primrose does warm up to living with him and his home, despite the eerie noises resembling a hockey game that haunt her in the night. But true sanctuary can always be found at a restaurant called The Girl on the Red Swing, where everything including lasagna-is served on a waffle, and where the proprietor, Miss Bowzer offers a willing ear, as well as sage advise. Through a mixture of eccentric humor and probing philosophy, author Polly Horvath makes Primrose's search for peace and understanding a most memorable one.
Everything on a Waffle is about a girl who has lost her parents one day when there is a terrible storm and her father is out fishing and her moth decides to go look for him. Well, everybody else thinks that she lost her parents. Primrose Squarp thinks that her parents are still alive just abandoned out in the middle of nowhere.
This book, I love. My mom wanted me to read it and I love it! In this book Primrose looses her sweaters, a toe, and a piece of a finger but for some strange reason, everything turns out just the way it should.
Who is Your Favorite Character and Why? One of my favorite characters is her Uncle Jack. Why? Because he is so nice and kind.
What is Your Favorite Part and Why? (Don't read any of the question if you don't want to find out that happens) I like it when her parents come back on a boat and her uncle faints!! Why? Because that part is funny!
Why are you like the Main Character or why aren't you? I don't know if I am like the main character. I mean in some ways I am not, because I have parents and in my little town there isn't a restaurant where everything you eat comes with a waffle. But in someways I am like her because I have two loving parents. So in some ways I am like her and some ways I am not.
I really liked this book and I advise you to read.

P.S. After each chapter there is a recipe.

102 Dalmatians

Title: 102 Dalmatians
Disney
Stars: 5
At this place that they do experiments, one of their experiments is to see what happens when they put Cruella with dalmatians. Well, when this happens Cruella has changed, somehow. She is playful with any kind of puppy and isn't mean anymore.
But when she sees a dalmatians she starts being mean again. She then decides to go on with her plan. To make a cloak out of dalmatian fur.
Ok, now this sounds a little weird because in the movies she was playing with dalmatians but then later she sees one and starts being mean again. I don't get that because she would have already been mean because she has been spending all of this time with a dalmatian.

Dressed to Steal by Carolyn Keene

Title: Dressed to Steal

Author: Carolyn Keene

Stars: 5

Description: I don't normally care about clothes, but when my friend Charlie Adam's sister Alicia opened a boutique right here in River Heights, of course I wanted to be at the opening. Turns out it was a pretty popular event. Way more people then expected showed up, and then the store window was smashed, and people were injured! Later I found out that Alicia's most expensive dress was destroyed and her store had been vandalized. Sounds like more then one-day-sale damage to me. I may not be a fashion expert, but this is one case I'm ready to size up.

Nancy and Bess go to a new fashion store called, Swoon 2 to look at clothes. Well, there was A LOT more people then expected. And not long before Nancy and Bess get into the long line into the store, window's are smashed and people are injured.

And ten later Nancy figures out that a dress was destroyed and some Blue Butterfly earrings were stolen. Nancy needs to figure out who the criminal is before they wreck anything else. Oops, to late.....

Title: The Penderwicks
Author: Jeanne Birdsall
Stars: 5 Because this is the most warm hearted book that I have ever read!
Description: Meet the Penderwicks, four different sisters with one special bond. There's responsible, practical Rosalind, stubborn, feisty Skye, dreamy, artistic Jane; and shy little sister Batty, who won't go anywhere without her butterfly wings. When the girls and their doting father head off for their summer holiday they are in for a surprise. Instead of the cozy, tumbledown cottage they expected, they find themselves on a beautiful estate called Arundel. Soon the girls are busy discovering the summertime magic of Arundel's sprawling gardens, treasure filled attic, tame rabbits, and the cook who makes the best gingerbread in Massachusetts. But the most wonderful discovery of all is Jeffry Tifton, son of Arundel's owner, who quickly proves to be the perfect companion for their adventures. The icy-hearted Mrs. Tifton is not as pleased with the Penderwicks as Jeffery is, though, warns the new friends to stay our of trouble. Which of course they will-won't they? One thing's for sure: it will be a summer they will never forget.
(Sniff) I love this book. I can not tell you how much this book means to me.
When the Penderwicks go for their summer vacation there whole summer is filled with magic and wonderful excitement. Rosalind 12, Skye 11, Jane 10, and Batty 4. These are all trouble makers.
When they end up at their cottage everything changes. They meet Jeffery, a young rich boy who isn't stuck up like his mother. The Penderwicks have to help Jeffery through is terrible lifetime so he doesn't have to go to Pensey, a Military school for young boys.

Getting Burned by Carolyn Keene

Title: Getting Burned

Author: Carolyn Keene

Stars: 5

Description: Good news or bad news first? Here's the bad: The animal shelter where I volunteer just burned down, which left a lot of displaced orphaned animals. It also means a big case for me, because I just don't buy the story that is was the result of "bad wires."
The good news is that my friends and I are working on a concert to raise funds to rebuild the shelter-and it's going to rock. Strange people keep joining the volunteer staff and some one's trying to foil our plans, but all I can say is they picked the wrong gal to mess with. The animal shelter is close to my heart-and so is putting criminals behind bars.

Nancy wakes up from having the weirdest dream to finding out that the animal shelter is up in flames right now. She has been volunteering there for a while and she loves those animals. So what can she do? She find who the criminal.

Deirdre Shannon is Nancy's worst nightmare and she is so mean. She has been crushing on Ned (Nancy's boyfriend) for a long time. Well, someone has been sending her love notes, and has been signing them with N. Deirdre says it's from Ned, but Nancy thinks otherwise.

In this book there is the whole thing about love notes and then a couple kisses. But they are only from her boyfriend Ned Nickerson.

I enjoyed this book very much and I advise you to read it just like me!

Gossamer by Lois Lowry

Title: Gossamer
Author: Lois Lowry (Also the Author of Number the Stars)
Stars: 5
Description: Where do dreams come from? What stealthy nighttime messengers are the guardians of the most deeply hidden hopes and our half-forgotten fears? Drawing on her rich imagination, two-time Newbery Medal winner Lois Lowry confronts these questions and explores the conflict's between the gentle bits and pieces of the past that come to life in dream and darker horrors that find their form in nightmare, In a haunting story that tiptoes between reality and imagination, two people-a lonely, sensitive woman and a damaged, angry boy-face their own histories and discover what they can be to each other, renewed by the strength that comes from a tiny, caring creature they will never see.
Dreams, nightmares, what give them? In this book there are creatures that go and collect fragments of memories around the house and give them to humans in a dream. But there are two kinds of creatures, ones that give dreams and one that gives nightmares.
John is a angry eight year old boy who needs help. The old woman is that one that takes care of him until John's mother can take care of him. John's mother has been through a lot, her divorce from her husband that was just cruel to her and she just needs to clean up her act so she can take care of John.
And how she gets John is through the creatures, tiny things they will never see....
If you like dreams this book is for you. I really like this book because of Lois Lowry's imagination. She creates such cool things. In this book, I like how she describes how they get dream. From touching things around a room and making them into a dream and giving them to humans.
Lois Lowry is also a great author and I have read another one of her books, Number the Stars, which was a fantastic book and I really advice to read this book and Number the Stars. Bu the way, my mom read Number that Stars and LOVED it and now she is going to try this one, Gossamer.
